JOB SUMMARY

Perform a variety of maintenance duties with specialization in the area of general production equipment maintenance, preventative maintenance, equipment installation and fabrication, to ensure optimal productivity, efficiency, and safe operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

§  Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment/machines.

§  Perform a variety of general maintenance functions in accordance with blueprints, layouts, schematics of circuits and controls, and written or verbal instructions.

§  Duties range from rearrangement of equipment to installation of new equipment.

§  Responsible for preventive maintenance of all production equipment.

§  Responsible for welding jobs, including fabricating metal parts, frames, stands, and brackets working from blueprints, diagrams, written, and verbal instructions.

§  Solder copper airlines with propane torches.

§  Repair and test several types of production equipment with a sense of urgency.

§  Responsibilities include requisitioning tools and maintenance parts and supplies; pick-up of parts and supplies; tool issue and repair, etc.

§  Perform safety inspections on all equipment/electrical systems to ensure safe operating conditions and immediately report any unsafe conditions found to your manager.

§  Ensure all maintenance personnel follow all safety rules and processes and act as safety role models for the maintenance team and company.

§  Provide advice, guidance, and training, as necessary.

§  Perform other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
• Technical trade school training of 2 years preferred.
• Demonstrate the ability to maintain and repair plant equipment, systems, machines, and tools.
• Experience with multiple types of hand and power tools, welding, and fabrication.
• Strong mechanical background for new installations and retrofits, repairs, and upgrades of equipment.
• Excellent and proven ability to build and maintain cross functional relationships in a team environment and ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to read and understand plans and blueprints.
• Strong ability to be hands-on, work independently, and remain self-motivated with minimal direct supervision.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
• Demonstrated knowledge of equipment and manufacturing safety procedures (e.g., lock out/tag out, reading MSDS, incident response procedures, etc.).
• Able to work in a fast paced cold and wet environment.
• Able to work extended hours and be flexible with working hours to accommodate business needs.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus.

WORKING DEMANDS

§  Standing, bending, kneeling, and crouching for prolonged periods of time.

§  Stand for an 8-hour shift.

§  Work in cold conditions from 38°F to 50°F and hot conditions.

§  Make decisions in a high stress environment.

§  Work with and around conveyors and other moving equipment.

§  Work at heights.

§  Able to lift 25 to 48 pounds to a minimum height of 36 inches.

§  Operating heavy machinery.

§  Lifting, pushing, pulling, and grasping while standing and kneeling.

§  Able to perform the essential function of the job with or without accommodation.

Pay Rate: $29.20/hr - 36.80/hr
