JOB SUMMARY

Quality Assurance Control for all company products to ensure that the highest standards of quality are maintained. Review and update existing product specifications and standards. Implements various testing and sampling procedures, prepare related reports, and recommend solutions. Promote an understanding of the quality standards with FDC associates. Maintain specifications for company quality processes and procedures and look to innovate and improve all tasks. Work with all areas of the company to communicate quality data and trends to prevent issues.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

§ Evaluate the quality of all arrivals from Mexico. Prepare scorecards and develop KPIs to assess the performance of all suppliers.

§ Ensure the timely inspections of all inbound product to meet 24 hours deadline for rejection of OSP and Copacker loads

§ Investigate customer returns to determine and track root causes. Coordinates with respective departments to develop corrective actions and implement solutions.

§ Optimize product quality by conducting product, operations, and compliance audits.

§ Prepare quality documents and reports summarizing key metrics, information, and trends.

§ Develop improved quality assurance policies and procedures.

§ Integrate and implement quality assurance standards throughout product process flow.

§ Identify training needs and coordinate/create training inventions to meet quality standards across departments.

§ Plan, conduct and monitor testing and inspection of materials and products.

§ Collect and compile statistical quality data that is beneficial to Global Mission team.

§ Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system.

§ Draft quality assurance policies and procedures.

§ Integrate QA into all departments in the facility and train employees to ensure efficient and accurate quality processes. Conduct continual training of QA specs to all employees.

§ Review QA reports and communicate details and outcome of quality activates to Global Mission various reporting channels.

§ Be a driving force towards the common mission in various facets of the company and be a team player among departments.

§ Ensure alignment of standards and needs between Mission and Customers.

§ Maintain and update all QA SOPs for all facilities.

§ Be able to perform all inspections and duties of QA techs. Ensure accuracy and timely delivery of reports using all existing technologies.

§ Carry out all standards set forth by the North American QA Manager.

§ Must be a motivated, self-starter with good people and communication skills.

§ Create and complete experiments to test packaging, product and other elements of quality.

§ Set up stations and equipment to measure quality specifications.

§ Test product for oil content, temperature, and internal/external defects.

§ Maintain a clean and orderly workstation.

§ Lift 48-pound containers from stacked pallets.

§ Lead and provide guidance to QA team.

§ Set weekly work schedules and review timecards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

§ Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Agriculture or related discipline and a minimum of 3 years of prior work experience in Quality Assurance.

§ Able to work in a fast paced, dynamic, high stress environment.

§ Ability to deal with changing objectives, deadlines, and priorities beyond one’s control as needed.

§ Excellent ability to identify business process improvements and report existing deficiencies.

§ High attention to detail and ability to trace products back to origin.

§ Able to work according to all food facility regulations.

§ Excellent communication and verbal skills with all levels of the organization.

§ Microsoft D365 experience a plus.

§ Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
