JOB SUMMARY

This position will coordinate the essential environmental, health and safety activities. This individual will join as a temporary worker to help support the Mission Risk Management team that strives to meet or exceed all regulations duties. They will be responsible for conducting inspections and posting documents in the cold warehouse (fire extinguishers, first aid kits, maps, EHS posters) and updating documents, sending emails, creating posters. They will also interact with employees via training, assisting with accidents, using Person Protective Equipment (PPE).

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the executing corrective actions found by internal or external audits.
  •  Update SOPs under the direction of EHS staff.
  •   Assist in the execution of EHS programs, posting documents, inspecting equipment, verifying dates, etc.
  •   Support employee safety programs with documentation and observations.
  •   Assist in training the working staff.
  •   Conduct internal self-audits.
  •   Assist in the response to employee accidents/incidents. Help initiate the workers’ comp system for the employees.
  •   Assist in the completion of all necessary accident/incident documentation, including root cause analysis.
  •   Complete and file EHS paperwork.
  •   Interact with workers to ensure PPE is being utilized properly.
  •   Create/update EHS safety posters.
  •   Conduct basic workers compensation tasks, i.e., completion of forms, filing, interacting with injured workers, facilitating nurse hotline calls and clinic visits, emails, and data entry.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to communicate, both oral and written, in English and Spanish.
  • PC skills including experience writing technical reports.
  • Disciplined record keeping, documentation skills, and attention to detail.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift or move 25 lbs.
  • Ability and willingness to be occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, safely work near moving mechanical parts and equipment, and temperatures between 35 and 45 degrees.
  • Ability and willingness to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, stoop, kneel, crouch, taste, smell, etc. as needed to perform essential tasks.

  • Ability to accomplish and manage tasks in a timely manner without constant direct supervision.

Compensation: $25.74/hour

 

This role is a temporary assignment tentatively ending August 11, 2025.

The selected candidate will be referred to a temp agency for onboarding.
