JOB SUMMARY

The Operations Supervisor assists in overseeing the complete Mission operation for their respective facility under Mission’s high-quality standards and guidelines. Proactively assist in managing the operation to ensure that it: produces value in our products and services to our customers and produces company market value in this category. In addition, this position will be responsible for inventory management, customer order allocation, meeting daily and weekly QA reporting requirements and meeting the quality specifications to provide the highest level of customer service. Communicate any relevant information as needed to corporate Mission teams.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

§  The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for assisting the FDC Manager in setting the priorities each day, communicating expectations, providing training to established standard for each team member who manages the product, and communicating to Mission corporate.

§  Assist the Shipping/Receiving department in overseeing all shipping and receiving operations and look for improvement opportunities to positively impact shipping KPIs.

§  Assist the FDC Manager in planning, directing, and executing, for our value-added processes (ripening, production).

§  Inventory Management and Fruit Utilization: Ensure accuracy of all inventories. Utilize inventory to ensure the highest sales value and customer satisfaction. Use FIFO standards set by Mission Produce and 3PL customers.

§  Communicate daily, weekly, and monthly to internal and corporate teams on productivity including inventory, shipments, quality, repack, and rejection KPI’s. 

§  Ensure established standards and SOPs are adhered to (shipping, receiving, ripening, QA).

§  Communicate daily with the FDC Manager on the status and quality of product as needed.

§  Understand and track customer rejections. Determine common causes and provide solutions to rejections.

§  Understand all customers’ specs and train employees to ensure adherence to each spec.

§  Complete quality documents and reports summarizing key metrics and information trends, provide documentation timely to Mission Corporate.

§  All other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

§  Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role within the Produce, Distribution, or other related industry.

§  Proof of experience developing and leading a team to obtain high performance. 

§  Demonstrated ability to remain focused with changing objectives, deadlines, and priorities beyond one’s control. 

§  Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong ability to effectively identify problems by framing issues, leveraging data, and developing and implementing solutions. 

§  Ability to be flexible with hours.

§  Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

§  Forklift experience preferred.

§  High School Diploma or 5 years of relevant experience.

§  Effective interpersonal communication skills.

§  Experienced in Microsoft Office and knowledge of D365/inventory systems preferred.

PAY Range: $72,000 - $75,000

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

§  Ability to lift or move 25 to 50 pounds.

§  Ability to work in temperature-controlled environment from 38°F – 52°F.

    Work safely near moving mechanical parts and equipment.
